Whatever be the types of
compensation including ""High Quality treatment announced by the
government to the young pregnant woman victim and her family for
the monumental blunder committed while transfusing of HIV infected blood to
her will not free that family from all types mental and physical
hardships that family has to under go. Moreover , the termination of
the services of three employees and filing criminal charges against them
will not result in removing the fundamental flaws in our health care system .
This accident will be widely discussed till the media gives coverage
.Then it becomes a forgotten story and that family alone will suffer
until that woman lives . We are very sure that, no lesson will be learnt from
this incident. We all know that only the very poor go to government hospitals
and what conditions prevail there . Any party which has ruled Tamil Nadu
so far, has ever made poll promises to make all out efforts
to provide high quality services in the government run hospitals and schools?
No nation can beat India in tackling even life and death problems through ad
hoc measures and punishing only those at the bottom of a hierarchy
and leaving , free personnel in charge of supervision of the services rendered
by the subordinates or appointing a commission of enquiry with
repeated extension of it’s term till public memory is erased totally over
such grave incidents
