world is facing 3rd world war

There is a prediction that, World War -3 would be on water disputes between nations. But I think the third word war is already started, ie., the corona virus has started the war on humanity through attacking the  whole world with alarming number of loss of lives and economic l losses . All the 13 sectors of the economy of all the nations are paralysed.  Poverty has intensified. Migrant labour is experiencing untold miseries . Nations which have neglected the health sector hitherto are penalised for their  stupid  priorities set while allocating  national resources . They are struggling   to cope up with everyday challenge the pandemic is throwing  on the governments. Nations like India which is so proud of their tallest statues, tube train promises , private jets for their leaders , satellite revolution, higher expenditure for defense sector   etc., should be ashamed of the world press exposing the pathetic and chaotic condition of  our medical infrastructure and the resulting deaths among senior citizens , pregnant  women, babies and  young front line workers due to non availability of Oxygen ,  hospital beds and vaccines and corona medicines. Why to talk of $5 trillion economy when the basic needs of people are given such low priority  by successive governments ? save the lives of people first . They are struggling for breadth . Other things can wait.  Stop indulging in rhetoric on health matters when people are addressed. They know how to take care of their families. Let the government learn at least now  how the  Corona can be driven out of our soil .

crisis in breathing

India had seen many crises since independence but the crisis India facing now is very scary. Indians of all the ages are struggling for breadth in hospitals and losing their lives . This crisis is manmade and the history will not forgive those who are responsible for it. This situation is  the result of low priority given to the health sector all along, through low allocation of resources   though, health is the key input in HRD. All along the state governments have been managing the social sectors like, education, health and medical care, water supply and sanitation, poverty alleviation, housing conditions etc., very efficiently. But the present government’s obsession with taking away all the powers of the states over social development has led to this chaotic condition. Their inefficient handling of all the matters related to health and medical manpower training and management has resulted in loss of many lives.  How can we pat our back saying we are  the fastest emerging economy with $ 5 million dream  when, we are losing our precious and productive human resource due to our inability to make them breath  normally  due to Oxygen supply mismanagement . Who is going accept the responsibility for this clumsy handling of Covid pandemic?

comment on "India does not shine when only some gleam" article by Arun Maira

Arun Maira, the author of the article in the Hindu (31.03.2021) “India does not shine when only some gleam,” has raised an important question  i.e., “what is the score board of progress against which India will report “ when we celebrate in 2022 the 75th anniversary of India’s’ independence  . Are we going to celebrate the poorest ranks for India in Global Hunger Index, the Happiness Index, and the Air and Water quality Index? When all our reforms are aimed at benefiting the well off sections completely ignoring, the basic needs of the marginalized  sections widening beyond imagination the gaps between them, with what sense of achievement   we can glorify our misdirected reforms? European nations may not be ranking high in GDP growth rate but, their citizens live calm, peaceful, happy and secured lives due to equal opportunities and just and fair treatment to everyone. The bottom 20% of the population  of India  are not going to be happy about the grand announcement about the goal of  #5 trillion economy that would benefit the top 10 % of the population when,  joblessness , homelessness , fuel prices, inflation and hunger  are causing,  so much of agony to their family members . Nor are they going to accept the Karma theory and blame fate for their miseries. They know what all atrocities are committed against the poor  in the name of structural reforms .When will India direct its reform process aiming better Human Development Index along with economic progress ?
