A tragedy that had shaken the a young prgnant woman anf her family in Tamil Nadu

Whatever be the types of compensation including ""High Quality treatment announced by the government  to the young pregnant woman victim  and her family for the monumental blunder committed while transfusing of HIV infected blood  to her will not free that family from all  types mental and physical hardships that family has  to under go. Moreover , the termination of  the services of three employees and filing criminal charges against them will not result in removing the fundamental flaws in our health care system . This accident will be widely discussed till the media gives coverage  .Then it becomes a forgotten story and that family alone will suffer until that woman lives . We are very sure that, no lesson will be learnt from this incident. We all know that only the very poor go to government hospitals  and what conditions prevail there . Any party which has ruled Tamil Nadu so far, has ever made poll promises  to   make all out efforts to provide high quality services in the government run hospitals and schools? No nation can beat India in tackling even life and death problems through ad hoc measures   and punishing only those at the bottom of a hierarchy and leaving , free personnel in charge of supervision of the services rendered by the subordinates  or appointing  a commission of enquiry with repeated extension of it’s term  till public memory is erased totally over such grave incidents

Surveillance right given to 10 agencies in India

An individual s will almost never know that , they  are under surveillance  and that means that, they may not be able to challenge before it in a court  . Such a scenario will create panic situation when   ten agencies are given an authority to honour surveillance requests from government . Surely ,  private conversations of political leaders during election times, activists  during their hectic protest schedules, intellectuals who  are doubted as urban naxals., media houses conversations , free expression flowing through social media  currently  on various policies and programmes of government  and even of financial dealings of corporate  and real estate houses etc., Even ordinary citizen's conversation regarding their various investments would not remain a confidential matter and they  are all  likely to be the victims of this unrestricted surveillance practice . How many more tools India needs to  protect national security ?  Such a draconian measure which attacks privacy right or fundamental rights should be subjected to intensive public and parliamentary debate . Otherwise India would turn into  Police state  in which repressive government control  is exercised where law is derived from executive power . Keeping people in a state of tension frequently through shocking economic and legal measures will affect the image of India as a functioning democracy.

5 states election result

The defeat of the BJP in all the five states in the recent election may be shocking to the BJP ,but not to the voters of these states. All the sections of the voters with variety of grievances  shown their  anger and decided to vote against BJP.  In the  2014 parliamentary election, corruption and policy paralysis voted out the Congress party . Now, the nation is disappointed with the huge gap between promises and performance, especially in the economic front, because of their disastrous economic policies. The other dominant reasons  are,  the insecurity created in the minds of minorities, the untold miseries suffered by small  enterprises and the poor and middle class due to demonetisation , tax terrorism caused by the imperfect GST structure , the oil prices affecting every house hold , the anger of the youth on jobless growth,  the helpless and frustrating situation of the agriculturists , the non recognition of the  basic  needs of the Dalits and Tribal’s , the hate speeches  expressed towards Muslims and tolerated by the leaders , the hatred towards intellectuals and resulting  in their murders  , severe attack on freedom of expression,  the branding of the social activists as anti nationals and urban Naxals when, they  try to expose corporate conflicts with environment  , the polarising efforts to create disharmony among communities and the meddling with the independence of CBI,  RBI etc., and the attempts to safronise  every social and cultural institutions through selection of persons for  top posts based on their ideology and not on their merits .  Mainly , PM, Mode is looked upon  as  the  PM  for the billionaire corporate giants   . The election results should not be misunderstood as  a strong signal that would guarantee an unconditional mandate  to the  Congress Party to rule the nation  in 2019. They have to take lot of efforts at the ground level and remove conflicts between factions within the state units of the congress party. Delicate balancing act has to be exercised by Ragul Ghandhi to prevent clashes between junior and senior leaders .    The present poll  verdict  reflect only the collective anger of the disappointed electorate of India and not overwhelming support for the Congress  party  .  This is the beauty of a functioning democracy .

Hunt on urban naxals

The term  Urban Naxal can stick on any one  who want to express their dissenting opining on the policies and programmes of the government through any medium.  That includes social media activists  and even harmless bloggers who want to share their opinion on anything happening in this nation which curbs civil rights and disturb their minds . Mejoritarianism  gives absolute power  to those in charge of governance  to arrest people on charges of anti national activities , to ban books , films and articles , to leave free movement of killers  who have hatred towards intellectuals, moral policing on youngsters  and intimidate ordinary citizens against free expression of  their opinion on several matters happening in this nation which are likely to result in religious disharmony and anti democratic   events and denial of fundamental rights . After identifying all the Urban Naxals and cutting their wings  ,the attention may be shifted to  catching hold of Rural Naxals

Me too movement

What the Me Too Movement  demands is a continuous and systematic process of learning that leads to equality.  Right now what is happening under this movement  in India looks like serving a limited purpose of naming and shaming some celebrity men and women by some celebrity women without taking the accusations  to logical end of getting justice to victims of sexual  exploitation  through various legally permissible means. Extensive social media coverage alone of such a serious matter has the danger of lending only frivolous gossip value to this matter . Such a serious movement can not be reduced to  a platform for publicity to few attention seeking social media activists .
Colleges and  schools pp should play an active role in imparting a proper awareness to both boys and girls regarding the rights  both the genders and in treating each other with dignity. Proper understanding of this movement is possible only  through including a chapter on sexual offences (which is now missing) in the curriculum of   “women studies”  which is  taught  at present only in women’s colleges  as an add on course funded by the UGC . It should be imparted  in all the men’s colleges too and should be renamed as “gender study” . Information  on this offence and the ways to deal with it may be provided through School and college education , but the change in the mindset of younger generation can be achieved only through home environment where , the parents set a model code of conduct in the equal treatment of men and  women in matters of fundamental rights, duties , dignity and respect .
