procurment policy of Covid vaccines 0f the government of India

The Supreme Court on Monday posed searching questions to the Centre on the COVID-19 vaccine procurement policy and advised the government to pass on the possible price benefit  to the states,  the central government is likely to get if it decides  to get 100%of the supply of vaccines needed from the manufacturers . The State governments  are choking with financial burden imposed on them to meet the challenges of the Covid virus . If vaccination would give the best effect in controlling the virus and saving lives , highest percentage of coverage of the citizens should be the priority of the central and state governments . The   medical experts all over the world have been giving this opinion repeatedly and now it is endorsed by the Supreme court. The main reason for low coverage of vaccine is non affordability of families during this difficult period due to loss of jobs and wage cuts . How can a central government not aware of this ground reality? To enable   states to  give free vaccines or at  low price  the central government should do everything possible to supply vaccines to them at lower price. This is the only rational ,  logical and efficient way of tackling the current virus  crisis.  All the states should rise above party lines and demand in one voice for the urgent need for 100 % procurement of the vaccines and distribution among states in accordance to their needs by the central government
