The ordinance passed in Rajasthan prescribing minimum
educational qualification for those who want to contest local elections is very
illogical and unjustifiable. . Any social reform can be brought in only through
an evolutionary process and through an ordinance which is a tool of revolution.
A nation which could not eradicate illiteracy in the last six decades due it’s
failure to cater to the educational needs of village children particularly the
poor, has no right to punish the people
in this manner. If the village schools have the right number of teachers , proper
class rooms, benches, boards, drinking water and toilets with water we would
have reached 100 % literacy long back
