women's eating habit and their health status

Women eating habits like , eating late food ,inadequate and irregular food had been an established cultural practice in India  for a long time ,irrespective of their economic status. The main reason  behind this practice  is that,  Men’s health status  and longevity are  more important to the family’s economic security  since, they are the main bread winners .If poor women had to do adjustment with left out food after feeding the entire family, the economically independent women too neglect their food requirement due to the pressure of duel responsibility of managing  a demanding job and the household management . Several health economists have recorded  the direct co relation between the poor health status of pregnant women and the lower birth weight of the newborns . But , this problem can be solved only when the mindset of men, who generally s do not spare any attention to the health position of their family women ahs to change . Moreover,  women themselves give more importance to traditions than on preventive health care  of them. Health education to create awareness about the seriousness of this problem  has to become widespread and intensified with the help of primary health  care personnel . After all the family’s health specially that of the newborns revolves around the mothers health .

atrocity against women in Bangalore

I really do not understand how men in responsible positions make such atrocious statements regarding the Bangalore city new year incidents . We know that India is a male dominated society. But it  doesn’t mean that all the acts of men are to be condoned in the name of women who (according to them ) defy Indian culture and traditions . Who  appointed women to be the sole custodian  of the  Indian culture and who has given the right to men to grope, molest and rape any women in public and private places, just because of their attire or time of physical presence in a particular place? What type of Indian culture they follow or preserve by these ignoble acts ?  Are they given special privileges to take liberty with fellow human beings bodies when ever they feel like? We know that reducing the birth rate in this nation has  become the sole responsibility or burden of   women as proved by the vast difference between tubectomy  and vasectomy sterilisations and the side  effects suffered by women due to birth control tablets . Is preservation of culture too is added to that  list of responsibilities of women ?

demonetisation

The front page of The Hindu dated 9th December  reported about the catch of huge volume of money (Old and new currency ) and gold during the raiding of the IT department in one of the influential  contractor’s premises  in Chennai. All of us surprised along with the IT officials regarding the source of the new currency possession . Our relatives in villages frequently complain about their several trips to village banks and permanent closure of ATMS just to get Rs 2000 in a week  The whole nation and particularly the media and the eminent economists are  highlighting about the hardships faced by common man due to the cash crunch , the resulting chaos  and likely losses  to the economy through loss of jobs and incomes . fall in demand, fall in investments etc., The PM and The FM are coolly and repeatedly talking  about, “ short term pain and long term gain ” with least sensitivity to the ground realities. Hope   several such raids and seizures of old and new currency and gold would enlighten them about the nexus between the bank officials and  RBI officials and the black money holders and the futility of this massive exercise of demonetisation  to  unearth  black money and directing it towards government exchequers . The bank managers and employees that includes , even the security personnel have acquired new status to boss over the ordinary  account holders and  increase their agony and give VIP treatment to VIP customers and thereby revealing their nexus in currency transfer of the new money

demonetisation

It is very strange that, the government is silent over the seizure of the new Rs 2000 currency in bulk, all over India when, the raids of IT  department takes place . The nation wants to know about the  measures  taken by the government to plug the sources of the leakage such as, the currency printing press, the Currency chests of the RBI and the banks . When common man is made to make three trips to the banks in recent weeks ,ever since Rs 24000 withdrawal is allowed because ,the banks pay this amount in installments  due to non availability of required currency notes. But ,the law breakers have no problem in getting huge amount of the new notes . The PM and the ministers take for granted people’s support to demonetization in spite of hardships. They talk from ivory towers with total disconnect with ground  realities . The opposition parties or any  one who articulate the sufferings of senior citizens, the disabled, women with  infants who are  standing in the queue for the last two months are ridiculed as anti nationals or supporters of the corruption . Maximum damage is done to the credibility of the banks especially, when each bank branch, is putting  additional restrictions  on cash withdrawals and refuse to pay any other denomination of currency  except Rs 2000 notes  . What happened to Rs 10, 20, 50 notes ? Are not the account holders reduced to the position of seeking the  bank employees mercy or favor to get even Rs 100 currency notes ? How long the people are expected to be patient and tolerate the tall claims made by the BJP spokes persons ?

demonetisation

There are  variety of opinions on demonetisation . According to me the main inconvenience is our inability to draw from our own money kept with full confidence  in bank accounts of various types. We need cash for variety of purposes and some of them are very urgent and can be met with hard cash alone .  It is very annoying to go to the banks several times and spend considerable time in the queue and able to draw inadequate money to meet our needs . Even those with comfortable savings deposited with banks were reduced to penniless position overnight and this position is dragging . How long this situation will continue we do not know. The December 31st deadline for ending the  discomforts  of the account holders didn’t stop the hardships which was promised by the PM . The image and the credibility of the banking system is very severely damaged . Hereafter, People will   keep lot of money at home out of psychological distress created by the present situation  and will open many accounts for the family to escape from such wretched experience . It is easy for those  living in all types comforts and facilities to preach through media , to exercise  tolerance of hardships  for some more time in national interest. I would like to ask these VVIPS, “ what type of hardships they suffered due to demonetisation in national interest”?
