It was highly distressing to read
the media reports of the loss of lives
in Delhi and other places in i India due to oxygen crisis. Families send their dear ones to
hospitals for saving their lives and not to lose them forever. If a vehicle
drivers or doctors cause deaths due to their negligence in their duties they
are punished as per the laws of the land by the courts. But who is accountable
to all the loss of lives due to mismanagement of oxygen, Coved medicines
,vaccines and vaccine prices, medical man power, hospital beds and
ambulances? The Courts had been repeatedly warning the central and state
governments regarding the chaos in the management of Covid pandemic. Yet, the
governments didn’t listen to any y body’s advice. Who advised them that, conducting
assembly and local elections and other gatherings are of paramount importance
amidst this medical crisis? This resulted in the diversion of the resources and
attention of the leaders to election matters from a humanitarian crisis facing
the nation. India’s shallow medical infrastructure status stand exposed to the
world despites the tall claims of “top emerging economy and “future Asian
leader.” The doctors who are toiling and risking their lives to save lives of
their patients are silently fuming over
the man made crisis and the nation is also watching the clumsy handling of
pandemic with unbelievable happenings. But no prompt measures are taken to make
alright the oxygen supply to hospitals which are making distress calls to the
governments . Failure to arrange for
required quantity of oxygen to hospitals and patients at home and allow them to
die gasping for oxygen Is a crime
against humanity deserving severe punishment .
